I spent the long Easter weekend out in the mountains, in Underberg. I went to Splashy Fen Music Festival with a couple of my close mates and had 4 days of some of the coldest, wettest, drunkest and most fun nights of my life. Maybe in a few weeks when I've fully defrosted and become human again, I'll write a piece on my experiences.

During the height of one of my nights, after every single double vodka and Redbull ever created, I bumped into someone at a campsite party and we got chatting about music. I remember waking up the next morning and thinking I maybe just dreamt that conversation, so when I checked my emails after an almost 10 hour roundtrip home after the festival and found a message from Gaby Paul with her latest single in it, you know I was off my tits on happiness to take a listen to chase that sweet vibe I was riding on.

A brief background: When Gaby Paul was just a child, she attended the MacPhail Center of Music in Minneapolis, MN. She took lessons from well-known Jazz vocalist Vicky Mountain. She branched out during this time, by auditioning/joining the MacPhail Music Theater Program.

Now when you've only been surviving on Paninis, alcohol and minimal sleep, you're not going to be feeling well after a few days. That's how I felt after coming home. I wasn't looking forward to listening to anything that was too loud or demanding on my brain which felt like a discarded dirty sock outside an outdoor shower and honestly I can't be more grateful for this song. Melt Into Honey is Gaby Paul's latest single, released on all streaming platforms and is an R&B/Soul with a dream pop sound. Much like the title says, I completely melted into this song. It was exactly what I needed and her sultry, dulcet tones did more for me in terms of bringing me back to life than anything else I've been putting into my body to try feel human again.
